TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) A man is accused of sexually abusing young children before becoming a Twin Falls Police officer. William Anthon Jansen, 33, was arraigned this week on four counts of lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 16, all felonies.

According to court documents, a Twin Falls County deputy spoke to one of the victims that recently came forward. The allegations say Jansen touched the victim's genitals on numerous occasions. The alleged abuse happened between 2005 and 2009 involving girls as young as 7 at the time.

The deputy wrote in court documents that he believed more victims may come forward. Jansen was hired as a Twin Falls Police officer in 2013 and was sworn in on March 17, 2014, according to Twin Falls City documents. All the charges stem from events that happened before he became a police officer.

The investigating officer also wrote that he spoke to the man's ex-wife, who claimed in charging documents that he had sex with a 17-year-old girl who had been living with them at the time. Jansen claimed he thought the girl was 18.
