The Bureau of Land Management sponsored a public hearing in Twin Falls yesterday so area residents could weigh in on the proposed China Mountain Wind Project in the Browns Bench area in southern Twin Falls County.  Many of those attending voiced their approval of the project although some were more enthusiastic than others. Many testified that although it is not their most favored use of the area they understood the need for it and were also in favor of the economic boost it would provide the area.  The proposed project, if approved and completed, would provide over 400 megawatts of power to the grid and would spread over 30,000 acres.  Proponents say it would provide over 750 jobs during its construction and about 50 jobs when completed.
