Most schools in the Magic Valley have their first day with students today and that means there will be a lot of children on the streets headed for class.  Local police agencies remind you to watch out for kids on their way to and from school and to pay special attention to the speed limits in the school zones.  Most agencies have a zero-tolerance policy for speed zones near schools along with an enhanced fine for violators.  The Hansen school district is trying something new this year…a four day schedule.  Students in Hansen will be going to school nearly an hour longer Monday through Thursday with Friday’s off.  Hansen school officials say it’s an effort to boost attendance and help cut down on substitute teacher expenses.
