UPDATE: The city of Twin Falls said one of the candidates, Jim Kruger, has dropped out of the application process. There are now three candidates for chief financial officer.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)-There are now three candidates for the position of chief financial officers for the city of Twin Falls as the current CFO is set to retire soon.

The city posted the four finalists Wednesday morning after receiving 30 applications from ten states, including as far away as Oklahoma, Virginia and Vermont. After interviews by city staff and the vice-mayor the candidates were narrowed down to Randy Bates, Breanna Howard, and Darcie Upton; Jim Kruger withdrew his application as the city made the announcement of the finalist.

The last four will be interview in-person later this month by staff and city council members. Lorie Race will retire in May after serving the city for 31 years, ten of which have been as the chief financial officer.
