Arrest Made After Body Discovered in Bruneau Desert
BRUNEAU, Idaho (KLIX) Idaho law enforcement made an arrest after remains were found in the desert by hunters last weekend. Idaho State Police say they have placed into custody Nicholas B. Vandenberg, age 27, of Melba, Idaho on one charge of first degree murder. State police took over the investigation at the request of the Owyhee County Sheriff's Office when hunters discovered the body of a man on October 21, who apparently died from a gunshot wound, in the Bruneau Desert area. ISP says it interviewed numerous people that led to the Thursday arrest of Vandenberg who is being held in the Elmore County Jail. Police have not identified the body.
