HAILEY, Idaho (KLIX) - A Boise man is behind bars in Blaine County facing several felony charges after a tense standoff with law enforcement in November.

According to the Blaine County Sheriff's Office, 29-year-old Dillon Dugger was moved to the Blaine County Detention Facility with three felony warrants of aggravated assault, attempted strangulation, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and a new felony charge of grand theft by possession of stolen property.

The charges stem from a four-hour standoff in Picabo at the Picabo Angler Store on November 16, when Dugger, who was armed at the time, refused sheriff's demands.

This was a very dangerous and volatile incident. Yet from a law enforcement perspective, it was a successful incident on many levels," stated Sheriff Steve Harkins in a prepared statement. "Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies and assisting officers worked hard to ensure public safety, subject safety, and officer safety,

The sheriff's office says the incident stemmed from a domestic violence situation Dugger allegedly had with a 34-year-old woman. The standoff ended peacefully with the suspect being taken into custody.
