Six School Districts Asking For Money Tuesday
Voters in six school districts in the Magic Valley will be going to the polls to decide on supplemental levies. The Cassia County School District is asking for just over $681,000 per year for two years.
The money goes into the school district’s general fund. Hansen School District is asking for a renewal of its annual $190,000 levy. Voters in the Jerome School District will vote on the renewal of an annual $650,000 levy which will go into the general operating budget and will not be used for facilities. The Kimberly school district will ask voters to renew a two-year, $300,000 annual supplemental levy in order to keep from cutting some current programs. Minidoka County School District is asking voters to renew a two-year, $1.2 million annual plant facilities levy. Money will go toward building-related projects.
Voters in the Murtaugh School District will decide on the renewal of a two-year, $150,000 annual levy. Polls will be open Tuesday from 8 until 8. You can vote where you normally vote in the general election. You will need a photo ID in order to vote. If you are not already a registered voter, you can register at the polling site.
