BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A weekend apartment fire caused by a snake's heat lamp has led to drug charges against two 21-year-old Boise residents. Police in Boise say the fire department responded Saturday evening to a fire reported in a closet in an upstairs unit of a four-plex.

Police got a warrant to search the apartment after firefighters discovered the drugs. Officers seized about 12 ounces of marijuana along with a container of psilocybin mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.

John D. Geisler and Elizabeth B. Rayner were arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. The fire displaced three families. The snake did not survive.
