Trump Hatred at Starbucks (Opinion)

Oh, Barista, there’s a liberal in my coffee!

This morning I came across a link from a North Carolina TV station.  A woman in Charlotte was mocked and harassed by the wait staff at a Starbucks because the customer was wearing a Trump t-shirt.  First, anyone behind a counter saying, “May I help you,” isn’t necessarily the sharpest tool in the shed.  It’s why many people make no more than $7.25 an hour for pouring coffee, shoveling hamburgers and punching cash registers.  Starbucks calling waiters by the term barista is like garbage collectors being called sanitation engineers.  Lefty doesn’t want to hurt the feelings of those at the bottom of the rung so we get euphemisms.

The pimply faced college students working at the Charlotte Starbucks know all there is to know.  Before you jump to the conclusion the customer is fudging the story the company admits it did happen.

Starbucks is OK with me, however.  The coffee is overpriced for my needs.  Maxwell House is fine for my eye opener and much more affordable.  A friend at the office gave me a Starbucks gift card a year ago.  I bought a bag of muffins.  Four for a little more than ten dollars according to my recollection.  The muffins were good but no better than what I buy at Costco and WinCo (and WinCo sells those delicious pistachio muffins) for much less.

Lesson for the coffee house waiters.  Leave the politics to professionals like me.
