TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Hundreds of people lined Main Avenue in downtown Twin Falls on Thursday evening for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Many were wearing green, many were not.

The parade started at 5 p.m. on Main Avenue East, crossed Shoshone Street and went down Main Avenue West, past bystanders and shops. Business owners, officials seeking re-election and local organizations participated in the event, many of them handing out candy or fliers to those who’d come to watch the parade.

Classic cars and big trucks revved their engines or honked their horns, getting reaction from the crowd: some covered their ears, others cheered.

“She actually likes the loud horns,” Patricia Conner said of her 7-month-old daughter, Lainey, who was wrapped in a child’s blanket to fight off the chilly evening breeze.

Twin Falls resident Jessica Baker also came to see the parade with her young child, but her party arrived late and saw only the last of the big trucks. She went shopping in the local stores instead.

Many people left once the parade had ended, while others stayed to buy drinks or barbecued meals from vendors who set up shop outside.
