The Ada county prosecutors office has cleared a twin falls police officer of any wrong doing during an April 5th shooting. 40 year lee fife was shot three times during a high speed chase by Officer Isaiah Day. Fife pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault and eluding officers, and is scheduled to face a September jury trial. Police say 40 year old Lee Fife, was speeding through a residential area without using his headlights the night twin Falls Police Officer Aaron Nay attempted to pull him over. Fife accelerated and lead police on a chase that reached speeds of over 60 miles per hour. The chase ended when fife’s vehicle crashed into  Twin Falls Police Officer Isaiah Day’s patrol car. Day shot into fife’s car 6 times, hitting him three times. Fife faces felony charges of eluding officers and aggravated assault, with a trial scheduled for September. Officer Day returned to work shortly after the incident. The ada county prosecutor’s says fife acted within the law when he fired the six shots.
