Road to Shoshone Falls Closed to Traffic and Pedestrians
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) The road leading to Shoshone Falls from the ticket booth is closed due to icy, unsafe, road conditions. The city of Twin Falls posted the announcement to their website asking people to not go beyond the gate at the booth because of icy conditions on the roadway. People can continue to see the falls by using the Canyon Rim Trail that can be accessed at the trail head at Eastland Drive and Poleline Road, as well as the trail head at the north end of Hankins Road, just north of Falls Avenue. Parking and access is free. Spectators may see the falls from the upper parking lot, but the city says the grade down to the area may be icy too at times. The city says it may place more signs to tell motorists of the potential danger.
